Friday Night is Brookfield Night At Marlowe's Lakefront Cafe

Good Food, Good Spirits, Good Friends!

Load up the car with all your friends,  for Brookfield’s largest party of the year!

Marlowe’s is a place for friend’s, family and friends you treat like family.  No hype, no mechanical bull, Marlowe’s is about people. Friend’s talking to friends, sharing stories and their lives.  Marlowe’s is about good food, spirits and a juke box that plays all your favorite classics, sharing memories… the kind that will make you laugh and cry.  It’s about seeing people you haven’t seen in a while or years, and when you leave feeling better because you had the time to reconnect.

Do you have a friend you haven’t seen in a while? Send this email to them and say, “I’ll see you at Marlowe’s for dinner and drinks!”  You’ll be glad you did. You are not going to get 3 years good luck or countless other phony promises  you’ve seen in chain letters, you will get the benefit of quality time with someone that has meant something in your life. It may bring a tear to your eye and frankly isn’t that what life is all about!

President George W. Bush is scheduled to be the guest of honor April 25 at a fund-raiser for State Sen. David Cappiello at the Kent home of former Secretary of State Dr. Henry Kissinger and his wife, Nancy.

Former Republican First Selectman Norman (Bud) Brown, who died last weekend, is remembered by friends and associates as an amiable, fiscally prudent chief executive who sought bipartisan cooperation, which helped lead to, among other things, the purchase of the large municipal parcel on Pocono Road and the construction of a town hall that was considered a palace when it opened in 1983 but is now bursting at the seams.

First Selectman Robert Silvaggi, who was taken by ambulance to New Milford Hospital April 2 after losing consciousness while working in his office, returned to the town hall Monday and has resumed his regular schedule.

Board of Finance Chairman Ernesto Nepomuceno said that his panel will probably have to "strike a balance" between conflicting proposals on how much the proposed budget should increase as it tries to get a spending package approved at referendum this spring while the national economy continues to decline.

A team of fifth- and sixth-graders at Whisconier Middle School (WMS) is raising money so that they can take their battery-powered road rally vehicle to Maryland next month to compete in the World Championships of Odyssey of the Mind (OM), a competition in which students around the globe compete while using their higher-order thinking skills.

State Rep. David Scribner (R-Brookfield), who is considered the leading champion in the General Assembly for graduated licensing for teen drivers, said updated legislation that was approved by the Senate this week would make Connecticut's roads "safer not only for teens but for everybody."

Danbury attorney Thomas Beecher, the town co-counsel, said that before the matter goes to trial he hopes to resolve a legal action regarding a violation of the zoning regulations regarding the year-round use of nine cottages that are only supposed to be occupied on a seasonal basis.
