The AARP Guide to Internet Resources Related to Aging
Provides information about resources on the Internet related to aging. An information and referral network designed to communicate information about products and services that are important to enhancing the quality of life of older adults and their families.  Topics include: geriatric health, geriatric drugs, legal, insurance, financial, helpful products and caregiver support.

American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging
The American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging (AAHSA) is a national association of not-for-profit organizations dedicated to providing high quality health care, housing and home and community-based services primarily to the elderly. It offers a number of publications and has a Web site listing its members and their facilities, as well as links to a wide range of other useful sites.

Assisted Living Federation of America
The Assisted Living Federation of America is a national nonprofit membership organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of life in assisted living residences and promoting the interests of the assisted living industry.

Administration on Aging (AoA)
A division of the Department of Health and Human Services, AOA is the federal government’s leading advocate for older Americans and provides funds for assistance and senior center programs, area agencies on aging, and research, demonstration and training programs.

Alliance for Aging Research
Alliance for Aging Research, an independent, not-for-profit organization, was founded in 1986 to promote medical research into human aging. Since then, the Alliance has grown to become the nation's leading citizen advocacy organization for improving the health and independence of older Americans through public and private research. The Washington, D.C.-based alliance also promotes healthy aging among Americans of all ages.

American Council of Life Insurers
ACLI expands awareness of how the products offered by life insurers such as life insurance, pensions, annuities, disability income insurance, and long-term care insurance, help Americans plan for and achieve financial and retirement security. Educating the public is a major focus of their Web site.

The National Council on the Aging has set up this new Web site to provide seniors with information on approximately 1,000 federal and state assistance programs for the elderly. The site was established to help the millions of elderly people who are eligible for but do not receive important government assistance. The site was created to help seniors quickly identify their eligibility for the programs. After logging on to the Web site, seniors enter financial information into a confidential questionnaire, which is used to determine which programs they qualify for and how to enroll in those programs.

Continuing Care Accreditation Commission
The Continuing Care Accreditation Commission is the only accrediting body in the United States for retirement communities offering a continuum of care. This site lists all of the currently accredited communities. Each facility must go through the accreditation process every five years to remain on the list and their financial standing is reviewed annually.

ElderCare Advocates
This site is operated by ElderCare Advocates, a private agency that works to help older Americans remain independent in their own homes for as long as possible. Its quarterly online newsletter offers advice and information about housing and caregiving.

Extended Care Information Network
This site offers a database of 24,000 extended care providers and over 9,000 home health care agencies. It is designed to match patient needs with providers or agencies that can accommodate them.

A national nonprofit, nonpartisan organization dedicated to the achievement of high quality, affordable health and long-term care for all Americans.

Health Care Financing Administration
This federal agency administers the Medicare, Medicaid and Child Health Insurance Programs for 74 million Americans. The majority of these individuals receive their benefits through the Fee-for-Service delivery system but an increasing number are choosing managed care plans.

This site is a gateway to consumer health and human services information from the U.S. government. A Web site dedicated to assisting seniors and their caregivers with making informed choices regarding Medicare+Choice options.  The site features annual out-of-pocket cost comparisons for over 100 Medicare HMOs in over 50 cities.  It also includes a Medicare HMO search by zip code and provides a convenient online form to request detailed information from Medicare HMOs.  The site is maintained by HealthMetrix Research, Inc., as a free service to the public and the media.

The Jewish Council for the Aging (JCA) is an independent agency helping local elders be self-reliant while living in the homes of their choice as long as possible.

Services for Seniors
This site lists resources to help people learn more about assisted living, nursing homes, and retirement communities. It is part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Administration on Aging Web site.

An organization that works to improve the lives of the elderly and people of all ages.  It is one of the leading activist voices for older Americans and is one of the largest organizations representing senior citizens and their families.

The National Council on the Aging, Inc., a private, non-profit association, is a center of leadership and nationwide expertise on the issue of aging. 

National Association of Professional Geriatric Care Managers
The National Association of Professional Geriatric Care Managers (GCM) is a non-profit, professional organization of practitioners whose goal is the advancement of dignified care for the elderly and their families. The National Caucus and Center on Black Aged (NCBA) is a national organization whose major focus is improving life for African Americans and low income elderly. NCBA is recognized as a national leader in housing, employment and advocacy on behalf of African American aged.

National Family Caregivers Association
The National Family Caregivers Association (NFCA) is a national, charitable organization dedicated to making life better for all of America's family caregivers. National Institute on Aging

Senior Job Bank
